Ashoka Buildcon, Ramky Infra Gain After Bagging Rs 1,646 Crore Road Projects in Jharkhand

- Ashoka Buildcon and Ramky Infrastructure bag road orders in Jharkhand
- Ashoka Buildcon awarded Rs 946 crore project
- Ramky Infrastructure awarded Rs 700 crore project
- Both EPC projects must be completed within 21 months
- Ashoka Buildcon gained as much as 2 percent, while Ramky rallied as much as 13 percent
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded contracts worth Rs 1,646 crore to Ashoka Buildcon Ltd. and Ramky Infrastructure Ltd. for building two highway projects in Jharkhand.
The projects have been awarded to Ashoka Buildcon which will widen a road stretch on NH 32 at a cost of Rs 946 crore while the other project has been awarded to Ramky Infrastructure for four-laning Barhi-Hazaribag stretch on NH 33.
“The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has issued Letter of Award (LOA) for development of 2/4 laning of Govindpur (Rajgunj)-Chas-JH/WB Border under NHDP Phase-IV” to Ashoka Buildcon to be built at a cost of Rs 946 crore,” NHAI said in a statement today.
It said the other project for “four-laning of Barhi-Hazaribagh section under NHDP phase-III for 41 km” to built at a cost of Rs 700 crore has been awarded to Ramky Infrastructure Ltd.
Both the projects would be undertaken on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode.
“Development of 57 km long Govindpur-Chas-Jharkhand/West Bengal Border section involves four-laning of 38 km and 2- laning with paved shoulder of 19 km of national highway,” the statement said.
The scheduled time of completion is two years, it said and added that the project will have four railway-over-bridges, 1 railway-under-bridge and 5 km long bypass for Maheshpur town. The project corridor passes through two important industrial districts i.e. coal mining hub of Dhanbad and steel city of Bokaro. This is a crucial link for inter-state connectivity between Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and other parts of the country. Development of the section would facilitate transportation of coal mines and steel. Thus, contributing industrial development in the country.
“Forty-one km long Barhi-Hazaribagh section would improve connectivity of important cities of Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Jamshedpur to Delhi -Kolkata corridor through NH-2. The project will have construction of 5 major bridges, 3 elephant crossings, 2 vehicular underpasses and a 11 km long bypass for Hazaribagh city, “ the statement said.
The schedule time of completion is 21 months, it added.
