Canada Needs Substantive Governing, Not Promises: MacKay

Sept. 15 -- On September 12th, Peter MacKay ended months of speculation by announcing he would not run in the Conservative leadership race. In an interview with Bloomberg TV Canada's Amanda Lang, MacKay, the former cabinet minister and now partner at Toronto law firm Baker McKenzie, says is too soon to judge the Trudeau government's performance thus far, but he is concerned about the 'sometimes naive tone' that it takes, especially with regards to support for victims. He also reflects on the Conservative party's previous leader Stephen Harper and acknowledges the pull of public office.
