Tammy Baldwin Holds Wisconsin Senate Seat for Democrats

(Bloomberg) -- Democratic U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin beat state Senator Leah Vukmir in Wisconsin to win a second term in a state where President Donald Trump campaigned for Republicans in the closing weeks before the election, according to projections from CBS and Fox.

Baldwin, one of the most liberal members of the Senate, had consistently held the advantage in polling leading up to the election. Much of the race focused on the differing views of the candidates on health care and protections for those with pre-existing conditions, with Baldwin supporting the Affordable Care Act and Vukmir calling for its repeal.
