(Bloomberg) -- Search interest surged for Britain’s Labour Party in the final days of the campaign, according to Google Trends, hinting at a different outcome than the one predicted by polls and financial markets. “We have only had real-time Trends data for two years and we’ve seen time and again that it can really tell us when something is happening,” Simon Rogers, data editor at Google’s News Lab, said in an email. “The Labour party is more highly searched now than at any time in Google history.”
