Indian Oil Says Letters of Intent Issued for 6 Biodiesel Plants

(Bloomberg) -- Letters of intent for the set up of six plants to make biodiesel from used cooking oil have been issued after an “encouraging response” to an expression of interest from refiners, Indian Oil Corp. said in a tweet.

  • Plants with an overall capacity to produce 102k tons of biodiesel each year are slated for Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, according to the tweet sent on Tuesday
  • NOTE: In August, Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum released an expression of interest to purchase biodiesel from used cooking oil
