Eyeing the domestic market, India’ largest e-commerce firm Flipkart has launched its own smartphone to compete with the likes of Xiaomi and Micromax.

Christened, Billion Capture+, the ‘Made in India’ smartphone is a part of Flipkart’s private label, Billion, an initiative spearheaded by co-founder and Executive Chairman Sachin Bansal, who stepped aside as chief executive in January 2016.

The phone has been designed, engineered, manufactured and tested in India, according to a company statement.

The Billion brand’s products have always been backed by meticulous data-driven research and insight into Indian customers’ needs. The features in the Capture+ too have been derived from deep data-mining of millions of Flipkart customers’ reviews.

The phone has features such as 13MP + 13MP dual rear camera, 3500mAH battery with Quick Charge, Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, free unlimited cloud storage, and the latest Android Nougat. The phones will be priced at Rs 10,999 for the 32GB model and Rs 12,999 for the 64GB model.

Billion Capture+ will go on sale on Flipkart on Nov. 15.

Under the Billion private label brand, which was launched in August 2017, Flipkart has already launched a range of products, including mixer grinders, cookware, backpacks and irons.
