Female Astronaut Claims NASA Mark for Most Time in Space: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- On Monday, Peggy Whitson, the commander of the International Space Station, became the U.S. astronaut with the most time spent in space, passing Jeff Williams’s 534 days, according to NASA. It’s not the first time Whitson has made history. In 2008, she became the first female commander of the space station. Her current mission is due to end in September.
