C2 Energy Capital Raises $21 Million for Renewables Fund

(Bloomberg) -- C2 Energy Capital LLC, a New York-based clean-energy developer, raised $21 million to invest in new projects.

About half of the money raised for the C2 Taiyo Fund I LP fund is already committed to specific projects, according to an emailed statement Thursday. The fund will target renewables and storage investments, including a 51-megawatt solar portfolio being built in South Carolina, said Richard Dovere, co-founder and managing member.

“Everything we have now is solar and storage,” he said in an interview Thursday. “But the fund’s mandate can go wider to anything in distributed generation.” He declined to name the investors.

C2 develops, owns and operates renewable power plants, including about 50 megawatts of operating solar assets in the U.S. and more than 400 megawatts under construction or development.
