Egypt to Generate 42% of Electricity From Renewables by 2025

(Bloomberg) -- Egypt plans to generate 42 percent of its electricity from renewable energy by 2025, according to Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker.

Nation will start to receive bids for 600 megawatts of wind power soon, Shaker said Monday at a conference in Cairo. The Benban solar park in Egypt’s Aswan province in the southeast is set to start at the end of 2018 or early 2019.
