New York Power Authority Receives $500,000 to Study Solar Output

(Bloomberg) -- The New York Power Authority received $500,000 from the U.S. Energy Department to study methods of predicting the output of solar energy systems.

The matching funds will be used to study output from both large solar farms and small rooftop arrays in an effort to keep the grid stable and provide uninterrupted power at reduced cost, the authority said in a statement Thursday.
