(Bloomberg) -- Samsung Electronics Co. said its retail partners should stop sales and exchanges of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, which was recalled in the U.S. last month after reports the handsets were catching fire.

“We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation,” Samsung said Tuesday in a statement.
