Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is all geared up to fight Reliance Jio face-to-face in India, and according to reports, they plan to offer cheaper tariffs than what Jio promises from 2017.

According to reports, the domestic telecom operator is bullish about its prowess to fight with Jio 4G.

BSNL’s chief said that his company will be keeping an eye on the response that Jio 4G receives, and then decide on its own plans.

They intend on offering free calls to its existing broadband users across the country, and are considering offering plans that are lower than Jio’s base point of Rs 149.

We are closely observing the market as well as Jio’s performance. We will also come up with lifetime free voice plans from the new year as part of fresh offerings.

BSNL can greatly benefit from using its vastly spread network across the country (except for Mumbai and Delhi where MTNL has a stronger foothold). But for that, the company has to improve its services support, which is also a concern for Reliance Jio.

For now, it remains to be seen if both Reliance Jio and BSNL can live up the claims they are making.
