ICICI Securities Report

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has released its monthly data on subscribers for March 2021.

Industry-active subs rose 12 million with Bharti Airtel Ltd. net add at 4.8 million subs; Reliance Jio gained 7.3 million subs after aggressive offer on JioPhone, but it is unlikely to sustain, in our view, as most subs are coming as second SIM.

Mobile broadband subs addition stood at 12.5 million with steady addition for Airtel at 3.6 million.

Bharti’s mobile broadband subs market share rose 4 basis points to 28.5% on active basis, while RJio’s improved 21 basis points to 50.0%.
