Telecom Spectrum Auction Day 1 Update: Bharti Airtel Strengthens Sub-GHz, Capacity Spectrum: ICICI Securities

Spectrum auction day 1 concluded with four rounds. So far, the auction has seen total bid for 849.2 megahertz spectrum worth Rs 771 billion.
The spectrum payout is broadly as expected post the earnest money deposits disclosure.
Though Department of Telecommunication does not share spectrum bid details for each operator, our analysis indicates Bharti Airtel Ltd. has bid for 349MHz spectrum with potential payout of Rs 199 billion.
Airtel’s bidding was focused on strengthening sub-Gigahertz spectrum, and capacity spectrum in 2,300 MHz.
