Production of refinery products/petro products has fallen by 13.5% during nine months - FY21.

Crude throughput or refineries processed 4.3 million barrel per day during nine months-FY21 compared with the 5.1 million barrel per day of crude processed during nine months-FY20.

With the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic across the world and with the nationwide lockdown imposed in the country, Indian refineries have been operating at reduced capacities.

Marketing -

The retail marketing of petroleum products in India is done mainly by the public sector Oil Marketing Companies. Important processes in the marketing include storage, distribution and sales of petroleum products.
