The Nifty crossed the 17,000 mark in August 2021 to touch a record high after remaining muted over the last two months.

It ended 8.7% higher month-on-month to close at 17,132.

Foreign institutional investor inflows returned to $1 billion after recording the highest outflows (down $1.7 billion) since March 2020 in July 2021.

Domestic institutional investors saw inflows for six consecutive months at $0.9 billion.

The market is scaling new highs, led by strong earnings delivery, benign liquidity, and buoyant sentiments.

Investors continued to park money in mutual funds, with inflows and contributions in systematic investment plans scaling new highs of Rs 99.2 billion in August 21.
