Motilal Oswal: Flux In Wireless Subscribers Continues To Top Two Telcos

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released data for July 2020.

Here are the key highlights - The number of gross subscribers increased by 3.5 million month on month to 1.14 billion in July 2020 (versus 3.2 million loss in June 2020).

This is the first increase seen in industry gross subscribers since the nationwide lockdown in March 2020.

Bharti Airtel Ltd. /Reliance Jio added 3.3 million/3.6 million subscribers, while Vodafone Idea Ltd. lost 3.7 million subscribers.

The number of active subscribers declined by 2.2 million in July 2020, versus 2.8 million decline in June 2020 (3.4% since March-20).

Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea continued to witness massive decline against RJio’s gains.
