The banking system’s weighted average domestic term deposit rates and fresh loans and outstanding loans weighted average lending rates remained unchanged on a month-on-month basis in October 2021.
There are early signs of a rise in the term deposit rates; we expect this trend to persist.
Our assessment of spread proxies (weighted average lending rates over weighted average domestic term deposit rates, fresh loans and outstanding loans spread over three-year G-Sec yield) suggests that private banks’ credit lending spread improved further in Oct-21.
