India Aviation - Air Travel Continues To Accelerate In October As Covid-19 Infection Trajectory Dips: ICRA

For October 2021, domestic passenger traffic is estimated at ~87-88 lakh, implying a sequential growth of ~24-25% compared to ~70.7 lakh in September 2021, and a YoY growth of ~67%.
The airlines’ capacity deployment for October 2021 was around 46% higher than October 2020. On a sequential basis, the number of departures in October 2021 were higher by ~18%, as Covid-19 infections demonstrated a downward trajectory.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation permitted 100% capacity deployment on domestic routes with effect from October 18, 2021.
The aviation turbine fuel prices in November 2021 have been higher by 94.4% on a YoY basis, attributed to the low base of November 2020, when the prices declined YoY by 33.1% due to the impact of the pandemic
