After a turbulent first nine months amidst the pandemic, supply dynamics showed early signs of regaining normalcy across the globe.
Until the gulf coast in the United States was hit by storm of cold wave (which frequently hits Texas at the end of January or early in February viz Harvey Hurricane) toppled chemical and petrochemical production.
As per media articles, 90 % of U.S. polypropylene capacity, 67 % of ethylene capacity had worn out.
Other products like Toluene diisocyanate, Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, Acrylonitrile, Ethylene Glycol, Epichlorohydrin, Epoxy resins, TBA etc. too faced outages in various plants sending ripples across the global supply chain.
