ICICI Securities Report

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has released its monthly data on subscribers for January 2021.

Industry-active subscribers rose 3.3 million with Bharti Airtel Ltd. net add strong at 6.9 million; Reliance Jio lost 3.4 million subscribers which explains its renewed aggression to push Jio Phone.

Vodafone Idea Ltd. fared well with subscriber dip of only 0.3 million.

Mobile broadband subscriber addition stood at 9.8 million with highest addition again for Bharti Airtel at 5.5 million.

In the past 12 months, Airtel’s subscriber addition has outpaced Jio in active and MBB.
