Players Who Raked in the Most Moolah at IPL Auction 2019

The much-awaited IPL 2019 Auction got off to a blistering in Jaipur, with West Indian players, on expected lines, garnering a lot of attention from the IPL franchises.

Carlos Brathwaite was the first player to breach the Rs 5 crore barrier at the auction, fetching a winning bid of Rs 5 crore from Kolkata Knight Riders. His West Indian counterparts Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran receiving Rs 4.20 crore pay-days from Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab, respectively.

Among Indian players, Axar Patel was the first to touch the Rs 5 crore mark – an amount dished out by Delhi Capitals, who also bought Hanuma Vihari for Rs 2 crore.

But Jaydev Unadkat – the Rs 11.5 crore buy from last time – was picked up again by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8.40 crore

Varun Chakravarthy, a spinner from Tamil Nadu, was sold to Kings XI Punjab for Rs 8.4 crore.
