BQPortfolio: Retirement Planning For The Man Who Saves 75% Of His Income

BQPortfolio speaks to citizens from across India about their financial goals and helps them access expert advice on how to achieve them.

Dibyendu Pal, 40, is doing the seemingly impossible. The Bengaluru resident is able to save nearly three-fourths of his monthly income.

But he doesn’t need to. Of the Rs 1 lakh that Pal is capable of investing every month, he only needs about Rs 60,000 to achieve the goals he set himself—a retirement corpus of Rs 5.6 crore and Rs 49 lakh by 2031 for his son’s education.

Gajendra Kothari, managing director and chief executive officer of Etica Wealth Management, however, says Pal doesn’t require Rs 5.6 crore. In this episode of BloombergQuint’s special show, Portfolio, Kothari helps Pal realign his goals and tells him how to achieve them.
