Prime Minister Narendra Modi has yet to address the nation on the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. While PM Modi did allude to the ongoing situation, these comments came during two political events, one at an election rally in Rajasthan’s Churu and another during a video conference with Bharatiya Janata Party booth workers.

In the meantime, there have been two short briefings by External Affairs Ministry officials and a presser by top officials of the three armed services.

Opposition parties have criticised Modi’s attendance at political events.

It is unfortunate that at this point in time, when the priority should be further strengthening the nation, the Prime Minister thinks that this is the time to strengthen their electoral booths
