Security Tight for Hearing on Kavanaugh Sexual Misconduct Claim

(Bloomberg) -- Security is far more strict than usual Thursday for a hearing on allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Only congressional staff, reporters and photographers and some invited guests are allowed inside for testimony from Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, a California college professor, who alleges Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they both were in high school. He says the allegation isn’t true.

Protesters -- who disrupted earlier confirmation hearings when Kavanaugh testified -- are being kept off the floor of the Senate office building in Washington where the hearing is being held.

There’s also a heavy presence of U.S. Capitol Police and they’re closely checking journalists’ IDs.
