Saudi Crown Prince's Sister Denies Assault Charge, Faces Trial

(Bloomberg) -- The sister of Saudi Crown prince Mohammed bin Salman will face trial next month over accusations she ordered her bodyguard to strike a craftsman working in her Paris apartment. The allegations are “unfounded,” her spokesman said.

The defense team of Hussa bint Salman aims to “set the record straight” during the trial scheduled to start July 9, according to a spokesman for her.

“The remarks that have been attributed to her as well as the facts that she is accused of have nothing to do with reality,” the spokesman said.

During the criminal investigation, the craftsman told French investigators he took a photo of the room where he was meant to work and was then accused of trying to sell it to the media before Hussa bint Salman ordered her bodyguard to hit him, according to an official at the Paris prosecutor’s office.
