Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new-look council of ministers has been unveiled with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party accommodating newer leaders and allies from various states.

Prominent BJP leaders like Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sarbananda Sonowal and Narayan Rane have all been appointed as part of Modi's new cabinet. Seven other ministers in Modi government including Hardeep Singh Puri, Anurag Thakur and Kiren Rijiju have been elevated to the union cabinet as well.

Ahead of the reshuffle, a number of ministers have tendered their resignations. The Rashtrapati Bhavan, in a statement, said the President has accepted their resignation.
