Pence to Address Wisconsin Violence in Speech to GOP Convention

Vice President Mike Pence plans to address the violence in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in a speech to the Republican convention on Wednesday, after a supporter of President Donald Trump was arrested for the murder of two Black Lives Matter protesters.

A reference to the violence was added late Wednesday to Pence’s speech, which he’s scheduled to deliver from Fort McHenry near Baltimore.

Trump said Wednesday he would send more law enforcement personnel and the National Guard to Kenosha, where protests and violence have taken place after police shot an unarmed Black man, Jacob Blake, in the back. The teenager who was arrested Wednesday had previously sat in the front row of a Trump rally, according to Buzzfeed.

NBA players refused to play Wednesday evening in solidarity with the Wisconsin demonstrators.
