North Korea Says U.S. to Blame for ‘Deadlocked’ Nuclear Talks

(Bloomberg) -- North Korea blamed the U.S. for stalling nuclear talks as it volleyed its latest criticism on the state of diplomacy since canceling high-level meetings with American officials last month.

North Korea moved ahead with denuclearization steps that were “excessive gifts” to the U.S. and the American side hasn’t taken corresponding measures, the country’s state-run Korean Central News Agency said Thursday.

KCNA said the U.S. seeking a nuclear list from North Korea was equivalent to asking for a target list. The Trump administration withdrew the demand because it realized its “unfairness,” it said.

“How can a negotiation train move when North Korea is the only one moving and the U.S. is standing still,” KCNA said. “We are waiting with patience” for the U.S. to take corresponding measures, it said.
