Nevada Democrats Say They Won’t Be Using App that Failed in Iowa

(Bloomberg) -- The Nevada Democratic Party said Tuesday that it is not using the same application or vendor that created problems in reporting Iowa’s caucus results on Monday night.

The party “can confidently say that what happened in the Iowa caucus last night will not happen in Nevada on February 22,” party chairman William McCurdy II said in a statement.

“We will not be employing the same app or vendor used in the Iowa caucus,” McCurdy continued. “We had already developed a series of backups and redundant reporting systems, and are currently evaluating the best path forward.”

The announcement of Monday’s Iowa caucus results have been delayed until late Tuesday because of problems with the phone app used by precinct chairmen to send results to party headquarters.
