More Americans Move to Norway Than the Other Way Around

(Bloomberg) -- While U.S President Donald Trump wants to welcome Norwegians rather than people from some other countries he’s reported to have called “shitholes,” the richest Scandinavians aren’t exactly beating down the door.

In fact, more people are moving from the U.S. to Norway than the other way around. In 2016, 895 people emigrated from the U.S. to Norway, while only 502 went the other way, according to Statistics Norway.

There are, of course, many people of Norwegian ancestry living in the U.S. An estimated 800,000 Norwegians moved across the Atlantic from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s.
