(Bloomberg) -- Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky was re-elected for a seventh-term, the Associated Press projected, beating Democrat Amy McGrath.
McConnell defeated McGrath, a former Marine fighter pilot, in a race he was expected to win even though he didn’t keep pace with McGrath’s fundraising.
Democrats need a net gain of three seats to take control of the Senate if Joe Biden wins the presidency, or four if President Donald Trump is re-elected.
