Lithuania Calls on UN to Open Humanitarian Corridor in Belarus

Lithuania said it’s seeking backing from the United Nations to open a humanitarian corridor from the Belarus border with Poland to the Grodno airport to allow migrants stuck in the area to return home.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said Thursday the issue of the Belarus migrant crisis is being discussed to be included on the agenda of the UN Security Council meeting.

“This would be a chance for people to return home rather than wait for rescue in the Belarusian forests,” Landsbergis said.
