Jerome Corsi Asks Judge to Impose Gag Order on Roger Stone
(Bloomberg) -- Roger Stone’s onetime wingman is asking a federal judge to impose a gag order on the colorful political operative.
Jerome Corsi, a prolific author of conspiracy books who worked with Stone in support of Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, filed a motion on Wednesday asking that Stone be forbidden from discussing his case in the news media.
Corsi, who’s alleged to have been one of two intermediaries between Stone and WikiLeaks in 2016 before the activist site published stolen emails damaging to Hillary Clinton, argued that Stone was attempting to “smear, defame and discredit” him as part of his public defense in the run-up to his trial. Corsi, who’s identified in the Stone indictment as Person 1, hasn’t been charged. Last week, Corsi sued Stone for defamation.
The case is U.S. v. Stone, 19-cr-00018, U.S. District Court, District of Columbia.
