(Bloomberg) -- Ivory Coast Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly has traveled to Paris for a medical checkup, raising possible concerns about his health as he prepares to run for president.
Defense Minister Hamed Bakayoko will assume Coulibaly’s duties in his absence, the presidency said in a statement on Saturday.
Coulibaly, 61, is expected to run to succeed President Alassane Ouattara in elections scheduled later this year.
