Coronavirus Will Mean Decade of ‘Brutal Change’ for Hungary, Says Orban

Hungary’s Orban Pledges Stimulus in Response to Coronavirus Hit

(Bloomberg) --

Hungary will work on a multi-billion euro crisis fund to help industries affected by the coronavirus, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.

The coronavirus will herald a decade of “brutal change” for Hungary, Orban told entrepreneurs in Budapest on Tuesday. He asked business leaders to identify as soon as possible the likely impact of the coronavirus on their industries in order to help the government come up with targeted measures.

Orban said the tourism industry would suffer until at least June, when the spread of the coronavirus may abate at the earliest in the eastern European nation.
