The Group of 20 has adopted the New Delhi Leaders Summit Declaration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday, and said consensus had been reached among member states.

"Have just got the good news that due to the hard work of our teams and your cooperation, a consensus has been reached on New Delhi G20 Leaders Summit Declaration," Modi said while addressing the second session of the Summit at the Bharat Mandapam here.

Through the declaration, members committed to:

  • Accelerate strong, sustainable, balanced, and inclusive growth.

  • Accelerate the full and effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

  • Pursue low-GHG/low-carbon emissions, climate-resilient, and environmentally sustainable development pathways by championing an integrated and inclusive approach.

  • Improve access to medical countermeasures and facilitate more supplies and production capacities in developing countries to prepare for future health emergencies.

  • Promote resilient growth by urgently and effectively addressing debt vulnerabilities in developing countries.

  • Scale up financing from all sources to accelerate progress on SDGs.

  • Accelerate efforts and enhance resources towards achieving the Paris Agreement, including its temperature goal.

  • Pursue reforms for better, bigger, and more effective Multilateral Development Banks to address global challenges to maximise developmental impact.

  • Improve access to digital services and digital public infrastructure, and leverage digital transformation opportunities to boost sustainable and inclusive growth.

  • Promote sustainable, quality, healthy, safe, and gainful employment. k. Close gender gaps and promote the full, equal, effective, and meaningful participation of women in the economy as decision-makers.

  • Better integrate the perspectives of developing countries, including LDCs, LLDCs, and SIDS, into the future G20 agenda and strengthen the voice of developing countries in global decision making.

"On this occasion, I would like to thank our ministers, sherpas, and all officials who made this possible with their hard work," the Prime Minister said after the adoption of the declaration.

On the war in Ukraine, the resolution reiterated the G-20's national positions and resolutions adopted at the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly and underscored that all states must act in a manner consistent with the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter in its entirety.

"In line with the UN Charter, all states must refrain from the threat or use of force to seek territorial acquisition against the territorial integrity, sovereignty, or political independence of any state. The use or threat of use of nuclear weapons is inadmissible," it said.

The peaceful resolution of conflicts, and efforts to address crises, as well as diplomacy and dialogue, are critical, it said.

"Today’s era must not be of war."
