Former Presidents Rajoelina, Ravalomanana Lead Madagascar Vote

(Bloomberg) -- Former Madagascar presidents Andry Rajoelina and Marc Ravalomanana have the most votes from this week’s election with almost a fifth of ballots counted.

Rajoelina garnered 40.8 percent and Ravalomanana obtained 38.8 percent, according to results published Saturday by the country’s electoral commission in the capital, Antananarivo.

A runoff vote is scheduled for December if none of the candidates get more than 50 percent of the vote.
