Finnish Government Survives Confidence Vote Over Budget Deal

Finland’s government survived a vote of no-confidence in parliament brought by the opposition over its economic policies.

Lawmakers in Helsinki voted 106 to 75 to back the government of Prime Minister Sanna Marin on Wednesday. None abstained and 18 were absent.

The opposition filed the motions earlier this month, arguing the government is failing to show how it plans to balance public finances in line with its goal.
