Erdogan to Meet Trump's Son-in-Law Jared Kushner in Ankara

(Bloomberg) -- Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to meet President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner in Ankara on Wednesday, according to the presidential palace.

Erdogan told NTV television late Tuesday that he and Kushner would discuss conflicts in the Middle East as well as economic relations. Ties between the U.S. and Turkey have been frayed by American support to Kurdish forces in Syria, regarded as a mortal enemy by Turkey, as well as Ankara’s decision to buy a missile defense system from Russia.

The men were not expected to address the media after their meeting, which is set to start at 3 p.m. local time. Kushner’s stop in Turkey is part of a broader trip to the Middle East this week.
