Economy May Take a Back Seat in Spain's Upcoming Election

(Bloomberg) -- Spain’s upcoming election is set to be dominated by Catalonia, the region that tried to split apart from the country in 2017 and which continues to divide the nation. The economy may play less of a part, given it’s outperformed the euro area for the past four years. But more political uncertainty could put pressure on growth, adding another risk amid a shakybackdrop both in Europe and elsewhere.
