Congo Opposition Says Fire Damages Electoral Body's Warehouse

(Bloomberg) -- A fire broke out at one of the Democratic Republic of Congo electoral commission’s main warehouses, damaging equipment needed for this month’s presidential vote, an opposition official said.

The blaze destroyed about 70 percent of the building in the capital, Kinshasa, Olivier Kamitatu, chief of staff for opposition leader Moise Katumbi, said on his Twitter account. Congo is scheduled to hold elections on Dec. 23.
