Bill Clinton Being Treated for Infection at California Hospital

Former President Bill Clinton has been hospitalized in California with a “non-Covid-related infection,” a spokesman said Thursday night.

Clinton, 75, was admitted to UCI Medical Center on Tuesday evening, according to the spokesman, Angel Urena, who added that “he is on the mend and in good spirits.”

Clinton, who was in office from 1993 to 2001, underwent heart bypass surgery in 2004. In 2010, he underwent a procedure to open a clogged coronary artery.

Urena later posted a statement on Twitter from two doctors who treated Clinton. They said he had been given antibiotics and fluids intravenously and that “his white blood cell count is trending down.”

Clinton this week took part in the Global Inclusive Growth Summit along with Vice President Kamala Harris and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director general of the World Trade Organization.
