Baillie Gifford Opens Sales Office in Frankfurt Ahead of Brexit

(Bloomberg) -- U.K. asset manager Baillie Gifford opened a sales office in Frankfurt to serve clients on the European continent.

David Gaschik, recently named marketing director for Germany and Austria, will head up the new office, which will add several sales executives later this year, according to a company statement. Edinburgh-based Baillie Gifford manages about 225 billion euros ($252 billion). Its European clients outside the U.K. account for about 5 percent of that total.

Andrew Telfer, a joint senior partner at Baillie Gifford, said in the statement on Tuesday that the Frankfurt office is “just the start” as the firm plans to “explore opportunities across the region.”
