Avenatti Avoids Domestic Violence Felony, May Face Misdemeanor

(Bloomberg) -- Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing pornographic-movie star Stormy Daniels in her court fight with Donald Trump, won’t face felony domestic violence charges following his arrest last week in Los Angeles.

The L.A. district attorney’s office referred the case to the city attorney to consider a misdemeanor filing, according to a statement Wednesday from the D.A.’s office.

Avenatti said in a tweet that he was thankful the D.A. has decided not to bring charges against him.

“This Thanksgiving, I am especially grateful for justice,” he said.
