Amitabh Kant was on Wednesday given a two-year extension as chief executive officer of Niti Aayog, an official order said.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension of Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant's tenure for a further period of two years beyond June 30, 2019, i.e. up to June 30, 2021, on the same terms and conditions, the Personnel Ministry said in the order.
The cabinet committee also appointed senior IPS officers Arvind Kumar and Samant Kumar Goel as chiefs of the Intelligence Bureau and the Research and Analysis Wing, respectively. They will stay at the post for a fixed two-year tenure, an order issued by the Personnel Ministry said.
Kumar will take the reins of the Intelligence Bureau from Rajiv Jain, while Goel will succeed Anil K Dhasmana at RAW.
