Nawaz Sharif's lawyer, Khawaja Haris, will file an appeal against the decision by an anti-corruption court in the Avenfield Reference case, on Monday, 16 July, ANI reported, quoting Waqt News.

Arrested after landing at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif and his daughter were sent to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Nawaz and his daughter’s passports were also confiscated.

The two have been convicted in the Avenfield reference case for possessing disproportionate assets and face 10 years and seven years in prison respectively.

Family Meets Nawaz Sharif, Maryam in Adiala Jail

The family members of Nawaz Sharif and his daughter met them at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi on Saturday night after the two began serving their prison terms.

The family members included the former leader's brother Shahbaz Sharif, his son Hamza Shahbaz and Maryam Nawaz's daughter Meharun Nisa.

They were flown to Islamabad from Lahore on a special plane for the meeting, which took place in the jail superintendent's room and continued for more than two hours, IANS cited Dawn news as saying.
