Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called for a ‘Fit India’ movement, as he looks to take the nation forward on the path of fitness and wellness.
During his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of Yoga, and urged individuals to think about ways to make the Fourth International Yoga Day on June 21 a memorable occasion. He said that so far he was only a Yoga practitioner, but now a group of volunteers have made him a Yoga teacher, further adding that he would be releasing videos of his yoga sessions on social media regularly, and they will be made available in multiple Indian and international languages.
A healthy India is the cornerstone of a developed India. In that spirit, let us make #FitIndia a full-fledged mass movement that further popularises sports and fitness among our youth. https://t.co/suZ3wVAri6 #MannKiBaat
