Amid continuous ruckus, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till Tuesday without the Speaker taking up the no-confidence motions moved by the TDP and the YSR Congress against the Narendra Modi government.

The Telugu Desam Party's no-confidence motion has put an end to the "myth" that the BJP-led central government has an unshakable mandate for the next 25 years, the Shiv Sena said.

Lok Sabha Adjourned For the Day
Barely five minutes after the Lower House resumed, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the sessions for the day till Tuesday following loud protests by TDP, TRS and AIADMK members.
Amid the uproar, Home Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement in the Lok Sabha saying, “We are ready to have a debate on no-confidence motion.”
As soon as the House met for Zero Hour after the Question Hour was washed out, members from TRS and AIADMK trooped into the Well carrying placards. While the TRS was demanding a rise in quota, the AIADMK was pressing for immediate setting up of the Cauvery river management board.
As the uproar continued, Mahajan said she was duty-bound to take up the notices for no-confidence motion but could not as the House was not in order.
Thought BJP Would do Justice to Andhra Pradesh: N Chandrababu Naidu

Shiv Sena to Abstain
The Shiv Sena announced it will neither support the government nor the Opposition in the Lok Sabha when a no-confidence motion is moved against the BJP government at the Centre. Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant told ANI that the party will abstain from the vote.
Lok Sabha Adjourned till 12 pm
The Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted for the 11th day on Monday, 19 March, as the TDP, YSR Congress, the TRS and the AIADMK continued their noisy protests over various issues, including the banking scam and special status for Andhra Pradesh.
While members from the TDP, YSR Congress, TRS and AIADMK were in the Well raising slogans and holding placards, MPs from the TMC and Congress were seen standing at their seats.
As protests continued, the House was adjourned till noon.
Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till Tuesday, 20 March.

In the backdrop of TDP and YSRCP moving no-confidence motions against the government, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis reportedly held a meeting with Shiv Sena's Anant Geete, who is also the Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Sector Enterprises, on Friday, 16 March.
According to an NDTV report, the meeting - also attended by BJP Maharashtra president Raosaheb Danve - was called to ensure the Shiv Sena's support to the central government, in the event of the no-confidence motions getting admitted and a vote being carried out.

YSR Congress Gives Notice for No-Confidence Motion Against Modi Govt
The YSR Congress on Thursday, 15 March, gave a notice for moving a no-confidence motion against the BJP-led NDA government, in the backdrop of the Centre's refusal to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
The motion can be accepted only if it has the support of at least 50 members in the House. YSR Congress has nine MPs in the Lok Sabha. If accepted, it will be the first no-confidence motion moved against the Modi government.
The TDP, a regional rival of YSR Congress, earlier announced on Thursday that it will support the no-confidence motion. The TDP has 16 MPs and is mulling quitting the NDA.

In the state Assembly, he had said, “The TDP was part of Vajpayee’s NDA government. We didn't crave for power. Vajpayeeji offered six ministries to the TDP, but we didn't take it. Earlier in the day, in an oblique reference to the BJP central leadership, the chief minister warned that "Tamil Nadu-type dramas" could not be played in Andhra Pradesh.
He was apparently referring to allegations by Opposition parties in Tamil Nadu that the BJP was controlling the AIADMK government in the state.
TDP Politburo Meeting on 16 March
The ties between the Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the BJP-led Central government may be reaching its culmination, with reports indicating that the former may be exiting the NDA. This comes a week after the two Union Ministers of the TDP, Ashok Gajapathi Raju and YS Chowdary, submitted their resignation letters to PM Narendra Modi on 8 March over the issue of special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
According to media reports, a TDP politburo meeting is scheduled to be held with CM Chandrababu Naidu at Amravati on Friday, 16 March, wherein a final call will be taken on whether to pull out of the NDA or not.
The reports indicate that many senior leaders of the party, along with its MPs and MLAs have voiced their support for the TDP's exit from the alliance led by BJP.
When asked if TDP will pull out of the NDA Alliance, Andhra Minister, Amarnath Reddy said, “Maybe. Our Party President has to take decision. Tomorrow there's Poliburo meeting. We're asking for special status. We are asking you to stick to what you had announced. That is our right to ask.”
