Manhattan Explosion Live: NYPD Says One Suspect In Custody
NYPD tweets it’s responding to reports of an explosion of unknown origin at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue.
New York Police Department is responding to reports of an explosion at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan, it said in a Twitter post.
One male suspect is in custody, it added.

The origin of the explosion is unknown, the NYPD said. The A, C and E lines of the New York subway are being evacuated currently, it added.
The Mayor has been briefed on the incident in Midtown. The NYPD, FDNY and first responders are on the scene.

The New York City Fire Department has confirmed one non-life-threatening injury at the scene of the explosion, according to its official Twitter handle.
